The Bahama Journal understands that 30-year old Daniachew Miller was shot to death at a welcome home party.
A group of men opened fire on him.
Police believe robbery was the motive in this latest slaying.
The shooting occurred on Abundant Life Road at 12:45 a.m.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Miller’s bullet riddled body.
According to Police Press Liaison Officer, Seargent Chrislyn Skippings, Miller was walking to his car when a group of men in a heavily tinted car approached him,” she said.
“It is further reported that one of the men, allegedly armed with a high-powered weapon, got out of the vehicle and fired gunshots at the deceased. Officers on patrol observed a gold Honda Inspire fleeing the area.”
The police chased the suspects, but they managed to escape after their car crashed on East Street, south of Robinson Road.
“A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers recovered a high powered weapon with ammunition,” Sgt. Skippings said.
Miller is the country’s 52nd homicide victim for the year.
In other crime news, police are still trying to determine how a man, whose body was found in the driver’s seat of a truck, died.
