Winfrey earned USD 315 million from June 1, 2009 to June 1, 2010. But in deciphering celebrity “power”, the publication not only takes earnings into account but also fame, which it measures by calculating the number of times a personality is mentioned in print, TV, radio and social media, says a report. That is why popular singer and fashion magnate Beyonce Knowles is second on the list with earnings of USD 87 million, while Oscar winner James Cameron is third with USD 210 million. Pop singer Lady Gaga also makes the top five for the first time with an estimated USD 62 million and is fourth on the list. Tiger Woods has been placed fifth for a second time. The ace golfer earned USD 105 million during the year. Winfrey retains the top spot on the list from Angelina Jolie, who slips to 18th spot with earnings of USD 20 million on the new Forbes countdown. Pop princess Britney Spears is said to have refused permission for her latest ad campaign to be airbrushed.

Spears, 28, has insisted that none of her shots for US-based fashion firm Candie’s should be digitally enhanced.

But she agreed for re-touched versions to be released simultaneously – highlighting the pressure on women to look perfect.

In the “raw” pictures, bruises are visible on her calf, her thighs are larger and dimpled with cellulite, and dry skin is evident on her feet.

In the airbrushed images her waist is slimmer and her legs flawless.

“Britney is proud of her body – imperfections and all,” the New York Daily News quoted a source as saying.
