Giants mull trade possibilities

Sources said Thursday that the Giants continued to explore the thin market for left-handed relievers, but their prospects were no better for adding a bat. the Washington Nationals continued to ask the Giants to break up their rotation to acquire Adam Dunn, the one left-handed hitter who could make a significant difference in their lineup.
The Toronto Sun and Sports Illustrated baseball writer Jon Heyman reported that the Giants are among the teams interested in acquiring outfielder Jose Bautista, who leads all of baseball with 30 homers.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy said that GM Brian Sabean has engaged in “a lot of talk” for a left-handed reliever, with names like Baltimore’s will Ohman and Toronto’s Scott Downs believed to be at the forefront.
The NL West-leading Padres obtained the 36-year-old Miguel Tejada and more than $1.15 million. the Padres gave up Double-A right-hander Wynn Pelzer to get Tejada, who is expected to be in uniform on tonight for a series opener against Florida.
